Sounds Like: The Rolling Blackouts: Black is Beautiful Record Collection (U.S.A.) Love Police Records & Tapes (AUSTRALIA) It wouldn't surprise me if the Rolling Blackouts were on the brink of committing themselves into a psych ward before deciding to form a band. The eclectic rockers from Lomita, California, comfortably decorate themselves with a sound that is borderline genius and insane. Just as you find yourself settling into their tracks a switch is flicked and, depending where you land, you could find yourself in a field of daisies dancing alongside hippies or undergoing shock therapy. Though oddly consistent in their inconsistency, the Rolling Blackouts are purely brilliant. Whether it be the humming of harmonies echoing alongside distorted mellow guitar, or high pitch screeches that don't seem to end, the band's debut is nothing sure than stellar.
