About Me

The band 6th Grade was formed in the Summer of 2002. The three members: Matt, Joe and Paul, had been best friends since the early 80s in elementary school, and played music with each other in various forms throughout their adolescence. After a long and eventful youth (Paul saw Matt break out in acne that was vomit-inducing, Matt saw Paul french his first girl, and Paul and Matt saw Joes nipples get big and bumpy and do some weird puberty stuff), they more-or-less parted ways after high school to pursue their adult lives.
After coming to the realization that adulthood was boring and pretty much impossible, the three decided to buy some beer and drink it. They also bought some cigarettes to smoke. Heavily influenced by the music of Frank Zappa, The Beatles, Steely Dan and Winger, the three thought it would be a great idea to write and record some music while they were polluting their bodies. What evolved was some of the funniest lyrics ever penned by man (infant), and some of the slickest sounds ever committed to vinyl (free recording software on a laptop).
6th Grade was born. In the year 2006, with an ever-so-stagnantly growing fan base, a song list of about 40 songs, a finished cd and a free website on MySpace.com (www.myspace.com/6thgradeband), 6th Grade continues to venture forth into the vast sea of struggling bands (mire of disappointment), hoping to share their gift of idiocy to the world (wives).
