Music can do wonders. In an almost magical fashion, a song can take you away, hold you firmly in place, or completely alter the mood of your day. And like the beauty that hides under every corner of the world, there is always music waiting to be found.
This is What Happens to Bad Robots, a metaphoric family of five musicians, has been making music in different forms and different paths for quite some time. But it wasn’t until after four years, when the winded, loaded name became their identity, that their songs began to peek out from their hiding places. Encountered by those searching for a connection, the music of Bad Robots began to find its home. For it is in the heart of the listener where songs are meant to reside.
Self-motivated for nothing more than the sake of making the best out of everything, two guitarists, a singer, a bassist, and a drummer created. And what they created was marked by a year of strums, melodies, beats, ideas, arguments, laughs, resolution. Six songs. Six messages. Six pieces of everything that is harbored in their creators.
Rany Saab, the smooth voice of the group keeps his excited eyes set forward. “We have no idea what is to come, but whatever it is, we are going to have fun with it,†he says after a short run-through of their set. The band agrees, smiling with anticipation. The outspoken guitarist, Seth Abrams, exclaims, “Let’s make whatever it is come quickly though. We want to see the world!†Arikk Mendoza loudly laughs behind his drums, as Adam Manolovitz sets down his guitar, shaking his head with a smile. Turning off his bass amp, Garrett Thompson agrees.
The excitement that surrounds each member of This is What Happens to Bad Robots is connected directly to their growing base of fans. They want to share what they have created; they want to give to their listeners their own song. This driving force has prompted the band to look to book their own upcoming tour, with the hopes of seeing has many faces and hearts as possible.
It is this solid ground, this always-present glow that is at the core of This is What Happens to Bad Robots. Where the paths of music branch and stray infinitely, this band is in it for the adventure. As long as they can keep creating that magic that wishes to be found, Bad Robots lights up at opportunity.
