Born out of the suburbs of Sin City, this tight group of friends found a common interest and talent and ran with it. Play For Keeps is a compilation of two of Vegas’ finest bands, brought together by a love for making music and having a good time. Original members Cameron Dettman and Andrew Nieto (of the group formerly known as Water Street) were recently joined by Jace Stagg, Brian Jones, and Chris Brobertson of Hitting on Hannah. This group was the culmination of numerous line up and name changes and they’re ready to take over this town. Most members can be recognized from multiple events, be it the Bite of Las Vegas festival or opening for big name acts like The Cab or Meg and Dia.
Play For Keeps draws their influences from across the board; anything from blues to 90’s pop is fair game. “We know what genre we are but hate the idea of being boxed in musically,†say Cameron, the bands’ lead singer. “We’re just a bunch of guys who found our talents and love having fun.†The band name represents the upbeat and energetic nature of the band (Play..), while still emphasizing the serious goals that they strive for (..For Keeps).
