About Me

MyGen Profile Generator I'm a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer, technical consultant, skeptic, anti-theist and general optimist. I'm based in Chicago, IL, USA (but heck, that's just a physical thing). I play Guitar, Mandolin, and Non-pedal Steel Guitar (Lap Steel, Table Steel, but NO Pedal Steel, 'kay?), along with a few other things. I've studied, played, and/or recorded in many genres, including Rock (Indie, Classic, Post-, etc.), Ambient/Electronic, World Music, Jazz, Electric Blues, Delta Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Country, and Hip Hop. I guess you could say I'm eclectic, though it's all cohesive in my brain. Many of my "top friends" (below) represent artists/thinkers I'm presently influenced by (or in some cases, I've worked with). I've mostly backed other people over the years, so I don't have any current music of my own to offer for your listening pleasure. I hope to change that soon, so please check back. I'm always seeking new challenges musically. Contact me if you're in need of talents such as I've listed here.

Notes on the Chris Thile and How to Grow a Band show at the Abbey Pub in Chicago, 2006-10-26:
