I believe in complimenting a person to make them and myself better in the sense that we are able to be independent yet co-exist on our journey through life in any type of relationship. They should make you try to be the best person you can be. Someone who is not afraid to have a conversation about the things they don't really want to talk about. Step up to the plate and face your fears. Acknowledge that life is hard, but respect those around you and their time. People who recognize a good thing and aren't afraid to feel. Time is a valuable thing. Don't waste it or other people's time on piety insignificant things. Especially not mine. If you can't confront me, I don't want to know you. I value face to face time. (this of course can be substituted with phone conversation if geography stands in the way) I work hard at my friendships if it is reciprocated. A friendship to me is for life and more valuable at this point in my life than a partner or the idea of a spouse. So if you think you measure up, don't be scared, it'll only hurt a little.
