About Me

Get your own free cool template at myspacelayoutgenerator.org/layouts

I'm down-to-earth (the ultimate "girl next door"), intelligent, funny, outgoing, friendly, confident, not given to drama or delusions. I like big words, sports, travel, and music. You will love me (no, seriously). ;) I am a YouTube and Facebook addict. I love reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
Two things about me are pretty consistent.

1-I am always on the lookout for awesome music, and

2-I read A LOT.

I have music on pretty much constantly. Sometimes I can't decide between TV & music...if that's the case, then I'll throw in a favourite movie and read. I also have a particular fondness for 80s rock/pop. U2, Simple Minds, Mr. Mister, a-ha, and let's not forget the hair bands. Ahhhhhh good times.

I love the smell of books, the feel, the otherworld-ness of being totally involved in a book. I don't read romance novels (ew) but stick pretty close to legal/psychology/crime genres or travel books. Like music though, I'm always on the lookout for good authours and I am trying to expand my Classics reading. I've read most of Dostoyevsky, Lewis, Tolkien, Shakespeare and Dickens (yes, for fun)...but need to start working on other stuff. I'll accept any and all recommendations. :)

Let's see...how about some quirky About Me Facts:
-I can touch my tongue to my nose -I make a bowl of popcorn every evening -I don't like slurpees, but add ice cream and I'm there! (we call them Icebergs) -I sleep on the left side of the bed -I collect stuff with watermelons on it -Charcoal gray is my favourite colour

Pet peeves:
-drivers who don't signal. I might rock, but I am NOT a bloody mind reader -people who don't say Thank You -people who mess with my organization..it's my shit, leave it alone! :D -people who sit around and complain about EVERYTHING...and when it's something THEY can change, don't...but still keep complaining.

I Like:
-lobster -the words "audacity" and "ridonkulous!" -long, hot showers -thunderstorms -CANASTA and Euchre -laughter -COMMENTS! :) -mini-golf, real golf, bowling and pool. And I will beat you at all of them.

My Interests

I'm interested in pretty much everything. If it looks like fun, I'll probably want to try it.
Ahhhhh fuck, this is funny:

I've studied Japanese (lived in Tokyo for 6 years) and need to get back into it again. I like to travel--be it jumping in the car for a road trip or across the ocean to somewhere new. I golf and bike and ice skate and go to the gym and walk and and and....Not bad for a chick on dialysis, eh? Ha..it's a PART of my life, not my whole life. Any questions...I'm an open book.

I'd like to meet:

Normal people. Intelligent. Funny. Down-to-earth. :) Although I am picky with who I add to my friends list.

Music:

Everything....country, hawaiian, classical, rock, jazz, world, christian, trance, etc. Recently on my playlist: The Ones, Dario G, BSB, Alien Ant Farm, Joni Mitchell, Kelly Clarkson, Keali'i Reichel...

Movies:

The Mighty, Star Wars, Stomp the Yard, Take the Lead, Bride & Prejudice, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, LOTR, etc etc....not into the whole zombie/scary genre though.

Television:

Couch potato wannabe...24, Friends, ER, DrPhil, What Not To Wear, House, Grey's Anatomy, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Amazing Race, So You Think You Can Dance... Funnily enough, I don't actually sit and watch a whole lot of TV...but I still enjoy it.

Books:

Soooo many. Lots of legal, crime, police, psychology type stuff. Michael Connelly, John Grisham, David Baldacci, Jonathan Kellerman, Jodi Picoult, Maeve Binchy, Marian Keyes, CS Lewis, Chuck Swindoll, Max Lucado, Joyce Meyer, Shakespeare, Tolstoy, Dickens, blah blah blah...I would like to read more, even though I already read a lot.

Heroes:

My Grandparents. They're awesome. My whole family rocks, actually.
