Reading, writing, and arithmetic. Listening to music. Watching TV. Going to the movies. Cooking. Espousing my points of view. Politics (though I refuse to be a completely naive partisan individual). Maintaining some sense of balance in my life. Going online. Being. Living. Feeling. Seeing.
Complex, intriguing individuals. Intelligent people. Realistic dreamers. Contradictions in terms. People who are NOT into being shallow or filling their brains and lives with nothingness.
Also, guys who look like any of these people and who are eligible hetero bachelors:

My favorite movies (no bullshitting) are as follows: 24 Hour Party People, Adventures In Babysitting, All The President's Men, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Fargo, Heathers, Joe Vs. The Volcano, Koyaanisqatsi, Labyrinth, Marathon (2002), Peter's Friends, Pretty In Pink, Real Genius, Sex Lies And Videotape, Sixteen Candles, Some Kind Of Wonderful, The Breakfast Club, The Daytrippers, Trainspotting, Valley Girl, Velvet Goldmine, Waking Life, and When Harry Met Sally. This list might be amended to include other films/movies as time progresses.
I hate the Food Network. Even Ina Garten, the pretentious, born with a silver spoon in her f***ing mouth b****. I'll only watch cooking shows on Discovery Home (Michael Smith, Kylie Kwong, and Robert Rainford are all awesome), and I like some of PBS's shows. I freakin' love "Life On Mars". I like "House" and the BBCA Gordon Ramsay programs, because I hate the way Ramsay comes across on those Fox shows. I've just seen the debut episode of "Private Practice" and think it looks awesome, so I'm totally giving it one season before it goes under. ;) It looks like I'm never going to stop boycotting Viacom, no matter how hard it is to go without Craig Ferguson late at night. I prefer British humo(u)r, but my favorite comedian is George Lopez (because I can totally relate to everything he says). I'm basically a sucker for some good, hearty documentary TV, still dearly miss Ovation TV, and think LinkTV and UniversityHouse does an ok job of substituting for it.
The Andy Warhol Diaries. ANYTHING written by Lorrie Moore. I actually got to meet Moore once; she is so incredibly sweet! Lorrie Moore rules! I've gone off Anthony Bourdain because I've realized that he speaks primarily to a specific group of upper class people who wish to pretend to be rebellious, so no matter how much Rachael Ray ribbing he does, at the end of the day he speaks to an audience that does not include me. I've become a Robert D. Kaplan disciple again (oh dear, some of you may be saying) and so I've been poring over his books again. My favorites are his travelogues -- Balkan Ghosts, The Ends Of The Earth, Eastward To Tartary, that kind of thing. F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of my favorite classic fiction authors; I love The Beautiful & Damned, The Great Gatsby, and all of his short stories (my favorite ones are "The Lees Of Happiness" and "Babylon Revisited"). My other favorite? Oscar Wilde. I love him.
My mother. My late father. Dr. Liviu Librescu. Yeah, that will have to do it.
