Written By Pat SavageA Savage Biker Artists Profile: Wayne Wright (aka GraveMinder)was born in the midwestern city of St Joseph, Michigan USA, as Wayne Wright and, from a very early age he has had a deep and genuine eye and penchant for both making art and also in genuine Harley Davidson motorcycles.Wayne had a genuine love for the open road and motorcycles at the tender age of 9. His very first bike he was given was a Harley 120, a rare off road bike that he quickly learned to ride and wrench on. His very first taste of riding was very profound. At about this same time period, he began sketching and toying with art. This would proove to be the foundation for what you will see nowadays from this talented biker, and inovative motorcycle visionary. At 17, Wayne joined the US Navy like many young American men do. After he traveled the world for some 6 years, he retired from the service and went to work in the factories of Iowa. Art, at that time, was far from his conciousness. It wasnt long before his pure and simple love for bikes, and the freedom that his biker lifestyle allowed him, brought him back to drawing and paintng motorcyle art after those years away from it And this time he would not stop! His art took many different directions as he searched for the perfect medium that would truly reflect his love and devotion to the spirit of motorcycles, and the lifestyle. He studied lots and just absorbed elements and influences from some established biker artists such as Dave Mann of Easyrider magazine fame, and Jack Knight of Supercycle magazine fame, and with a fervor he worked on his own vision that stemmed from these studys..Never having had a single formal art lesson in his life, other than general studies in high school, Wayne quickly learned that self teaching and absorbtion, as well as personal target learning and diligence, was the only way for him to learn effectively and succeed.2.Graveminder soon picked up an airbrush and supplies, and began learning to express his love for bikes in his garage in this medium. After struggling for a while with the airbrush, he soon moved on to the more conventional brushes and canvas boards. Worked at it and made some of his great early pieces. After some months passed, he was finding this medium also not much to his fancy either. So he strayed a bit from his artistic talents, andopted to give up art and go drag racing bikes and cars. He fell in love and soon got married. The next 15 years he drag raced motorcycles and dragsters. Never wandering too far from art though, he bought a computer in the early 80's and started toying around with the digital art medium. When the Internet came of age so did the age of .. tutorials and Wayne was in!.Working 2 and 3 jobs at a time in local bike shops to support his wife and all his motorcycles and streetrods, he spent his free time studying art and computer graphics ... The man soon realized that his own background of riding, came in very handy when he started working with digital 3D modeling. And he began with creating scenes from the biker lifestyle. Real images with great attention to detail so real in fact many thought some of them were photo's!Waynes great eye for detail, content and his genuine love for custom bikes, has come together very well in his original and thought provoking pieces. He has, of late, been creating art that many bikers with taste, major bike magazines and biker art lovers are taking notice of. His work is original, new, exciting and truly beautiful. He is catching on like wildfire across the US and Canada and the demand is growing for his work in Europe now!Wayne (Graveminder) Wright currently has a large .. gallery where you readers can browse and purchase different pieces simply by clicking on the Buy Now buttons. He can also be seen at many of the biker rallies across the USA.Check out www.graveminder.comI have been writing stories about bikers, our lifestyle, and the rallies we enjoy. This is the first time I have been impressed enough to write about a biker artist., And am most interested in spreading this fabulous artists name and digital art worldwide. Graveminder Arts.No..1 with a bullet in my humble opinion!Ridin hard..livin free...Pat Savage
