Contrary to what the band name implies, Solo is two people: Simon Gitsels and Michiel Flamman. The latter, better known as J Perkin, debuted with the self-produced record Exhibit a few years back and has been performing at Dutch festivals and clubs since. In the meantime hes become something of a critics favorite and gained an ever growing fan base.
In 2004 Flamman joined up with his piano playing friend Gitsels to form Solo, and recorded the album Songs n Sounds in as little as two weeks time. In the Netherlands it was released by Excelsior Recordings.

In January 2006 released Solopeople. A more band-orientated album, with intriguing artwork. The pop sensibility is upfront and some of the songs seem to be created for the sole purpose of being played over and over again on the radio.
Their first single, Come back to me, became a hit. What brought them even more acclaim, as they started touring. Solo has established themselves as a group ready for even bigger things as their album Solopeople is going to be released in Germany and America in the fall of 2007.Releases:

Solo have been awarded with an Essent Award and performed at Noorderslag festival 2005, which was broadcasted by German Television in Rock-Palast.In January 2005 Solo started their Songs 'n sounds Tour. A Silent Concerts tour, in co-operation with the Silent Disco, with up to 500 headphones available for the audience. After that they went on a 26-date theater-tour with Dutch top-act Spinvis.Februari/March 2006 touring The Netherlands on 25 dates and scoring a number 19 hit with Come back to me.
March 2007 sees Solo return to theaters again as support for Spinvis. Solo-Selection an acoustic-live-album is released at the start of this tour.
