"There is something about guitars-maybe something magical-when played right which evokes past, mysterious, barely conscious sentiments, both individual and universal. The road to the unconscious past". -John Fahey ............................................................ ............................................................ .................................... Also, more new tracks on the way! ............................................................ ............................................................ .................................... 7-15-07: Great News! I've begun work on the new Cloud Temple album "Elk Reckonings". The material still has a folky feel to it like the previous releases, this time the emphasis is more on the Eastern influences, drones and bursts of guitar noise/psych. There are also hints of Neil Young-esque balladry and a few surprises! I'm excited and proud of the new material and I will keep posting info as it arrives on the release date. ............................................................ ............................................................ .................................... 7-2-07: Sorry about the lack of updates! Don't worry Cloud Temple is still active. I've been focusing on some other work as of late. I recently released an album of eastern influenced raga/drone music under my own name, John Miller. The album is available through me and my label, Bickering Bray. It is titled "A Description of the Movement of the Sun: 2 Ragas". Let me know if you have questions or would like to order. The stark balladry is branded with clash and drone, backwoods finger work, bell and echo. Words like, “the sap drips from the tree trunks”, and “silver dew ‘pon the golden brush that the sunshine burns away” add to the effect of being transported dream-like into an altered state. These psychedelic, organic songs, a style which is reminiscent of Stone Breath, are born of much heart. The beautiful art of the digi-pak adds to this great release. -Chelsea “Blackbird” Robb, of Arrowwood................................................... ............................................................ ..............................................
