JJ ALEMANY - Jose Juan Alemany was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on April 15, 1971, a very proud Aries, who started playing drums at age 11 and a year later performed local gigs around town and hasn't looked back since. Influenced by diverse musical tastes like Rock, Jazz, Latin, Funk, Progressive, Blues, Reggae, and Metal, he incorporated all this in his own music. After playing with many local bands he relocated to Los Angeles and had the opportunity to record with one of Canada's most popular Progressive Rock bands Saga on the album 'Security Of Illusion' and also jammed with one of his guitar heroes Steve Vai. He then relocated to the Bay area and peformed with different local bands while jamming with Gregg Allman. JJ had also arranged two songs from the Astor Piazolla catalog adding a Rock vibe and live drums over the Tango classics and recorded them in Los Angeles with renowned musicians Carl Verheyen (Supertramp) on guitar, Richard Baker (Santana) on keys, Jorge Trivisono (Batman Returns/ 21 Grams) on bandoneon, and Jim Crichton (Saga) on bass. Then JJ expanded his musical palette as a composer and singer and worked on what would become his debut CD 'Psycho Bitch'. Moving to Amsterdam, Netherlands while working on his record, he had the opportunity to perform with some of the top talented musicians and finished his own Independent CD between Puerto Rico and Amsterdam on his 'Manimal Records' Imprint, and now is back in Los Angeles to promote the CD and searching for management, distribution, TV and Film exposure and to continue to spread the Real Alternative!
