TassNata (short for Latin, ‘’Veritas Dignata’’ meaning Truth Dignity.) aka Justin Nerling was born and raised in Vernon, BC before relocating to Victoria at the age of 18. At his present 20 years of age, TassNata is already a common name mentioned in the Canadian underground hip hop circuit. Growing up, TassNata was influenced at an early age by legendary musicians he found in his fathers record collection such as Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain. His first favorite rapper was Big L and quickly he became emerged in the 90's hip hop scene. After writing rhymes in his schoolbooks for years, Tass recorded his first legitimate song at the age of 16. Since then he has performed alongside artists such as Raekwon, Too Short, The Game, Daz n’ Kurupt, Bone Thugs n’ Harmony, Masta Ace, Maestro and had a tour of his own in summer 2006. TassNata has taken his career from local to international in just a few years of hard work and endless hours of self promotion. TassNata previously released a mix tape Titled 1st Day Of The Future and early 2007 released a Street Album titled 'One Long Song' featuring singles with Rochester aka Juice, Eternia, and Main Flow, as well as exclusive production by Al Khaaliq and Contejous. Over the past year many of TassNata’s songs have been featured on hip hop Canada’s choice cuts list such as One Long Song RMX ft Promise,Mezziah&Chinx, Loud n Clear ft Felony produced by King Arthur, Currently in the works is a mixtape with Canadian producer Vokab, and a new solo street album.
