I've started to suspect my public self is just a pale imitation of me

About Me

The thing about me, is that I have one of those personalities that really only work out for fictional characters. If life really were like an 80s era John Hughes film, I'd be so set; I'd be assured of my rain-moment, but of course it's not, which is a shame, really.
I'm pathetically shy around people. I can generally be expected to be utterly fearless about things that scare other people like just picking up and moving to another country or city without knowing a soul or walking around in the city at night or attempting to ski off a roof without actually having real skis (Incidentally, one by fours waxed up with saddle soap and tied on with string don't make for the best ski jumping skis, also your roof probably doesn't have the length or the curve to sustain a good jump, just in case you were thinking of repeating my experiment.) and yet be completely unable to say 'boo' to a guy I find remotely attractive. The bravest I've ever been in terms of speaking first to someone I had a crush on was handing a guy a note asking him out, which might be something you'd think of doing in grade 7 or 8, only I was in university and it didn't get me the time of day.
I like the idea of living fictionally though and I can't see myself ever wanting to be mass market and such. I think perhaps the day that I'm no longer hunting for the small cinematic moments to happen in my life or planning something slightly crazy and trying to work out how one day my string of almost was bad luck is going to break and everything is going to turn out brilliantly is the day that I've finally been broken.

My Interests

I can be interested in just about anything, the trouble, for me, is retaining that interest. I really like documentaries, science programming, films made for the sake of revelling in the nature of film, books, the visual arts, microscopy of cellular material, and daydreaming.

it's amazing how much a year can change your direction

It's really funny how shite changes so fast and how somehow it's all interconnected. How one thing that seems like a good idea and goes to shit, or just seems like shit or whatever ends up leading aro...

You know there was a time that I was so completely arrogant about my writing ability, and to be honest I don't think I'm un-arrogant now, it's just choosing to make itself hide in the background behin...

I can't stand when I have a grey opinion about a film

I went to see Art School Confidential this evening, I'm oddly unsure what my actual verdict is on it, I think I kind of want to hate it, but I don't. I want to hate it because it suffers from the same...
