About Me

life can hold some back, but it will not hold me down, new start, new lease, new found peace…damn, give me a baseline, a drum and a glass of cran and I’ll help you find the pocket…what else would you like me to be but me?…ask me if I’d rather be infamous or famous: what’s the difference? I do what I want, say what I want, not always, but enough to just stay on this side of sanity. I don’t like to hate, love to love or perhaps just the feeling of love and not love itself…does that make any sense at all? Good, then you know what the h*ll I’m talking about, a hopeless romantic, straight stylish, kind of sexy, singing, dancing…dork, who can rock your block and knock the snot loose if you choose to cross the line, with a smile, and a stank you smelly much, apology, dust you off and send you on your way, an honest man who happens to have some issues, either here or there, whispering erratic nothings that compliment everything, but never mean a thing, the type who's always pondering until actions ensue, with just about the biggest heart you'll ever find, though confused at times, so build or break, give or take, what really lies behind those dark eyes?

Being Black in the Work Place:They take my kindness for weakness.They take my silence for speechless.They consider my uniqueness strange.They call my language slang.They see my confidence as conceit.They see my mistakes as defeat.They consider my success accidental.They minimize my intelligence to "potential".My questions mean "I'm unaware".My advancement is somehow unfair.Any praise is preferential treatment.To voice concern is discontentment.If I stand up for myself, I'm too defensive.If I don't trust them, I'm too apprehensive.I'm defiant! if I separate.I'm fake if I assimilate.Yet, constantly I am faced with work place hate.My character is constantly under attack.Pride for my race makes me, "TOO BLACK".Yet, I can only be me. And, who am I you might ask?I am that Strong Black Person... Who stands on the backs of my ancestor's achievements, with an erect spine pointing to the stars with pride, dignity and respect which lets the work place in America know, that I not only possess the ability to play by the rules, but I can make them as well!

First and foremost, please let me recognize that Jesus Christ is my LORD and SAVIOR…without HIM, I would be nothing…All Praise, Honor and Glory are due to HIM and HIM ALONE…So much has happened in my Blessed-Life that I’m simply at a “loss for words.” I truly appreciate every aspect of this short time on Earth we call “Life.” I live this “Life” to the fullest each day and try my best to walk the “Narrow Path”…the road “Less Traveled”…the “Righteous Way” of living…I’ve learned that doing the right thing isn’t always easy, matter-a-fact, its probably the Hardest thing TO DO…which is why so few people actually DO IT. In everything, both Good & Bad, Happy & Sad, Gains & Losses…All Success, Struggles and Failures in this life SHAPE US into what we are supposed to be…I see the GOOD in everything & everyone but my KINDNESS can be mistaken for WEAKNESS…My “UNIQUENESS” TAKEN-FOR-GRANTED and my “POWER” never fully realized until it is FAR-TOO-LATE. I believe in LOVE, both Earthly and Heavenly…It is still true that people have a hard time believing all that they see when they look at me, but I must reiterate that I’m simply a HUMAN BEING. And BEING HUMAN’s HARD…on the Boulevard. Is it impossible that I’ve never had a DRINK BEFORE? SMOKED BEFORE? NEVER TRIED A DRUG? Is it so hard to understand that I don’t SLEEP AROUND or go out to HIT SOMETHING? Can a person graduate with a 4.0 and be part of a National Championship Football & Track Team? If I’m at the Club, Dancing Crazy with a Hair-Cut no-one has and a T-Shirt no one has seen…does that mean I’m “Faded?” There is Much MUCH more to this man than meets the eye, so its best NEVER to judge a book by its cover. A Religious & GOD-FEARING Man…Lyrically Gifted, Spoken Word with appearances on Def Poetry Jam & Freestyle of the Month on Hot 97.
