My fabulously talented friends - El Bandillos , Icarus, Luce, Krista Detor, Jeff Oster, Amy Hailstone, Barry Coggins, Jon Michaels, Mark Robinson , Bob Maus , Armond Neal , Logan Thompson , Marshall Boswell (who also writes fabulous books - see below). I am mother of half of Rinodeth. Also, I could listen to just about anything by Rickie Lee Jones, Chuck E. Weiss, Van Morrison, Madeleine Peyroux, Alanis Morrisette, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Jonny Lang, Delbert McClinton, Keb Mo, Sonia Dada, Raul Malo or The Mavericks, John Eddie, Ryan Adams, Elvis Costello, George Thorogood, Neil Young, James Taylor, Donovan Frankenreiter, Dwight Yoakam, Jimmy Buffett, The Black Crowes, Jet, any bluegrass played by anyone, any time, anywhere (especially Dave Peterson and 1946 ), and any kind of blues, played by anyone, any time, anywhere. My favorite old stuff is Creedence Clearwater Revival, Sly and the Family Stone, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Cab Calloway, Louie Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonius Monk. Just became a big fan of Blue Mother Tupelo . And Junior Brown is the rockin'est roadhouse bad-ass I've ever seen in my life!

Movies:

Most recently seen at the theatre:Sex and the City, Indiana Jones, Leatherheads, 88 Minutes, 21. Other good ones as of late: Bucket List, Charlie Wilson's War, American Gangster, The Darjeeling Limited, Across the Universe. All-time faves include Auntie Mame, Marilyn Monroe movies, Marx Brothers movies, W.C. Fields movies, Gone With the Wind, It's a Wonderful Life, Cabaret, Hard Day's Night, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Repo Man, Where the Buffalo Roam, Babette's Feast, The Apostle, Blues Brothers, Wayne's World, You've Got Mail, Life is Beautiful, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, O Brother Where Art Thou, Monster's Ball, Secretary, Love Actually, Thank you for Smoking, SuperSize Me (watch it with your kids), anything with George Clooney, Billy Bob Thornton, James Spader or Albert Finney in it. Watch Almost Famous - a dear old friend from my Venice Beach days plays the airplane pilot.

Television:

Seinfeld reruns, Sex and the City reruns, baseball games (as long as they're not boring),

Boston Legal, My Name is Earl, The Office, What Not to Wear, Isaac, Meet the Press, and, though it's not really television, TikiBarTV. ............

Books:

Finished Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller; also finished The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. Picked the Tender Bar back up again; now that I'm happy, I think I can handle the poigniancy of this book. Still need to get back to Condy.... Read my friend Marshall's fabulous books!

Heroes:

Well, Jesus and Mother Teresa were pretty cool; Princess Di and Jackie O were totally fabulous; Ghandi, Teddy Roosevelt, MLK, and Nelson Mandela were serious non-badass badasses;

Porkchop, who can fix a rainy day;

Che Godzilla was a party revolutionary; My Bodyguards, who never cease to amaze me, and, of course, Mom & Dad totally rock.
