Extra Effort Wins!!!

About Me

First of all, my name is Sherri and I am the proud parent of two beautiful children. If you want to know them, you'll have to visit them on your own; this is about me. :)
Well, as you can see, I'm a big fan of my television. I'll warn you now, I like all kinds of shows, from reality shows to science and history shows with a little dash of nearly everything else in between...namely sports! I love tennis, basketball, football. Heck, during the Olympics, I swear I even got into curling!I love to learn. Now that the kids are grown and gone I've gone back to school to FINALLY finish getting my degree. I also love to travel, though I've not done much outside of moving to different cities. I just went on my first cruise ever in August 2006. I highly recommend the experience. I thought it would be hokey, but I had a great time.Music is my lifeline. I subscribe to Rhapsody so that I can go from Old School to Hip Hop to Smooth Jazz and back again. As you can see, I love Neo-Soul, but I will listen to anything as long as it appeals to me. I just finished listening to Royskopp after watching that darn Geico commercial.I'm the type of person who enjoys the simple things. A pair of jeans and a comfy top are my mainstays. I do have a thing for earrings though.

My Interests

Computers, politics, posting, puzzles and sleep...maybe I have some compulsion for the letter P. :)

I'd like to meet:

Interesting people anywhere in the world. Seriously. I love to travel to different areas by talking to people from places I've never visited. Silly, I know, but that's me too. :) I love talking to people who stay informed as to current events and can offer an intelligent opinion, even if I don't agree with it.myspace

Music:

Maybe it goes back to hearing the women in my family sing all of my life, but to me, women possess some of the most beautiful instruments in the world in their voices. Sade, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Hil St. Soul... I can listen to a mix of just these artists all day long. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the men out there, or the musicians... believe me, they occupy my playlists as well.

Movies:

The Incredibles is hands-down the best feature cartoon ever. Ironically, I despise most chick flicks, but am a sucker for sci-fi and action adventure. Thus, add me to those who saw (and bought) all three Matrix flicks, V for Vendetta, Serenity, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy (can't wait for "Ultimatum"), to name just a few.

Television:

Love it... I don't mind admitting that DVR is my best friend. I have a lineup for every night of the week (OK, some days are pretty slim) but if nothing else I love sports!!! Some of my faves -- and when I say fave, I mean WILL NOT MISS -- shows are Heroes, The Amazing Race, Project Runway, Mythbusters and yes, I'll admit it...Dancing with the Stars AND Survivor. I also make sure to at least DVR CSI (the original only), Criminal Minds, Dirty Jobs, Ugly Betty, My Name Is Earl, House, and L&O: Criminal Intent. Finally, I am a closet Discovery Science Channel geek. I just recently finished watching 100 Greatest Discoveries (for the second time).

Books:

I used to tell people I like mysteries to maintain my pride (and I have read all of both Robert Ludlum's and Ken Follett's books), but anyone visiting my bookshelves will know the truth in an instant...I'm a closet romance junkie. I buy by the author, so when I discover a new one, I have to buy all of her previous books. I recently bought a bookcase so that I could finally organize my paperbacks. It's a 5-shelf case which can hold two rows of books per shelf and it's not big enough... My friends, that's a lotta books!

Heroes:

Accuse me of sounding trite, but one is my husband for reasons I could hardly ever commit to a website. Maybe I'll pen my memoirs one day.

Getting caught up

Well, one my resolutions for the new year is to actually USE my MySpace page for more networking and socializing.  Last year was just too much of a bear for me to concentrate fully.  I was s...
