I recieved my first guitar xmas of 1987 from my folks. At once I became obsessed with the instrument and music in general. During the years of 1991-1993 I played in my first "real" band, a prog. metal band called The Fifth Season. In that band I played with a follow guitarist named Christopher Ladd. He was much more advanced than myself and I learned a lot by playing with him. Following the demise of T.F.S. I began Grey Division Blue with fellow classmate and voilist Danny Ingerson. Once again I was playing music with a musician much more advanced than me [though on a different instrument]. I learned a lot from Danny. We recorded the six-song cassette "Departure" in 1994 and continued writing new music throughout '95 but called it quits for awhile. From '94-'98 I attended The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA majoring in jazz guitar [while studying classical privately]. Probably the most rewarding experiences during that time were playing in the inter-arts ensemble in which musicians improvised and performed along to the movements of dancers. In 1997 I recorded a 3 song solo cassette titled "While I Wait". Shortly afterwards I began working with Danny again [now a bassist and going by the name Clayton] in an instrumental band called Dysrhythmia, which still continues today [though he's since left the band and been replaced]. Dysrhythmia is currently signed to Relapse Records, has released 4 studio albums, 1 split EP, 1 live album, 2 vinyl split releases, and has played over 500 shows in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Besides Dysrhythmia, I write and record with Byla, an experimental/ambient project featuring Dys bassist Colin Marston. In the summer of 2005 I was introduced to filmmaker Kevin McCann who was looking for acoustic guitar-based music for his film "Awake". The experience of working with film and a director was very rewarding and something I wish to do more of in the future. Anyone interested in my work should feel free to contact me.
