Started listening at 5yrs old to classical music (Handels Messiah)@ 6yrs Began the bell chimes at my local church loved the tone but wanted more. During that time i also listened to M.J ( some of thee best dance shizz i've ever heard)also listend to hip hop(Stetasonic, L.L. Cool J, Beastie Boys, Kraftwerk, O.C. Kurtis Blow) Old school Funk
(The Funky Meters, Hugh Masakela, Issac Hayes) Most of my time was spent listening to music to such a degree to where you would not see me w/o headphones. In 94, when Rap began to lose it's originality, I saw a Faith No More Video (on MTV when it just played music)after that I began listening to alternative/ metal/ death metal/ Punk ( Alice in chains, sepultura, pantera, Mr. Bungle, Bad religion, Morbid Angel, Deicide, A.F.I.) and music which fit my thirst for new music, My brother ( which is one of my biggest music influences) played "There's a Planet Here" from a band called Ozric Tentacles. It' stuck in my head for over 2 yrs it had no words just flow. That same day he played "Azura" (dillinja Rmx) from 808 state's Thermo Kings
album. DAMN!!!! Went to the store to buy that c.d. they didn't have it they only had it on vinyl Hell Yeah.. but that was only one jungle track and i didn't have any tables... FUCK!!!! so we went over to his friends Les's
He gave me Photek's Form and function on vinyl ( two copies!!!!!!!!) and brought out smoe Tech 12's and cut up some shit and said here you go. !!!!!! 20 min later i was nek deep and haven't looked back since. In 97 i got really serious and decided to make D&B My Reazon 2 Exist and began the local underground scene but it was all house muzik (love house but it' aint D&B) 313 Under the bridge came around in 98. Dieselboy and Whilem K (Regular @ Tonic and "The House") 15 ft stacked subs, Bass takes on a whole new meaning. After that Day i began work on my first mix tape. I became a hobbit and shunned everything but my synths( korg electribe analog mod synth and drum machine) and my decks (one of my 1200's died in the process) 2 weeks later i had 5 tracks and 25 mins worth of bass.(check tha blog 4 listings) More did i need so i spent most of my time working a factory job to earn new equipment
Whenever i wasn't workin i was behind the decks (work hard play hard) or at that time fuckin around w the local chikenhead's. (another story)In 02 i started my own label Drell Tech Innovations. With about 14 tracks under my belt it was time to mix it up a bit so i got to mix it up at the local Record Time (thanx Lavelle).2 Months Later i was introduced to Corbin D, and Wes C. They hooked me up with a weekly spot at Divine (thanx much bro). A year Later My Fuckin house burns down FUUCCCKKK, but a with a miracle from The Almighty THE ONLY THING THAT SURVIVED WAS MY RECORDS!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING ELSE DID NOT MAKE IT (from my tables 2 my tv was a melted mass of goop and ash) the fire was so hott it burnt a 3 foot SOLID CONCRETE EAGLE TO THE BASE !!!! (Shit Happens For A Reason Right !!!!) Good Family (U know who U are thanx) and a whole lot of bass later, I pounded out 8 more tracks and haven't looked back since. It rains i make tracks, It snows I make tracks, my house burns i make tracks..... I AM A JUNGLIST....
