About Me

Hailing from Brampton (just outside of Toronto) comes Black Vinyl. A definite rock flavour that can sometimes be dark, seductive, sexy and fun all at the same time. With a powerful, intoxicating yet soulful voice Joey found herself a singer with label interest in the U.S and no band to record the demo that the record company so desperately wanted. That's where Mike and Vince come in. Mike was a previous songwriting partner of Joey's that knew how she worked and what she needed to get done. Vince was brought in through a friend of Joey's family who knew Vince would be able to channel all the ideas pouring from Joey and Mike into one cohesive body of work that would properly showcase Joey's songwriting and vocal talent. The result was the 3 song EP entitled Behind Closed Doors. With great feedback from the label and ongoing future plans in the works, Joey, Mike and Vince found themselves with a multitude of songs left over from the EP and still more being written. The EP began circulating amongst friends and industry folk around the Brampton and Toronto area and had people enquiring about additional tracks. The three decided that with this interest the best thing to do with these great songs was to perform them live as well as keep writing. The only thing left to do was to finish of the lineup with a guitarist. While writing and recording Mike and Vince were able to pull double duties in the studio. However, live shows would require the band to find someone that could fill the guitar player role while still being able to keep the band a tight family. For Vince there was only one conclusion. Misha Drazevic. Vince and Misha had worked together in numerous bands in the late 80's and early 90's and Vince knew with his undeniable talent for melody and soul Misha was the only man that would fit the bill.
