Here is a little bit about me:
wut up ppl. I'm a music producer, computer deejay/performer, artist type constantly in the studio trying to figure out the most new and exciting ways to blow your mind thru artistic mediums. I totally put my art before everything important: a secure future, school, serious girlfriends (only cause i'm to broke to buy shoes and fix my car), leaving the house, a large bank account, and a "good" job. I'm following the voice inside my head that says "Charlie, you are doing the right thing. you don't understand it yet and that's cool. I promise if you follow your heart and your guts, you will be exactly where you need to be precisely when you need to be there." As funny as that sounds, i realized that everything i've done up to this point has been exactly that. Each puzzle piece of my life fitting together to slowly form a bigger picture. I feel like i only have a few more pieces to place before i can only start to see kinda what the picture looks like. My Music Projects: Random Rabbit: I'm part of an electronic improv band that will totally rock your face. We call ourselves Random Rabbit. I'm real happy with what we have been doing recently. We have no problem exploring every aspect of every musical genre and influence. I'm convinced that we can rock any crowd at anytime. I'm the technical guy/producer of the group. My instrument is a Powerbook, and Midi Controllers. I'm also the guy that hooks everything up and makes it werk. Our website is coming soon. It was ready until i realized that internet explorer totally fucked up the tables i made in dreamweaver. Anyway, you can check out our myspace page for now. Make sure you pick up a copy of our digital release if you haven't already. Random Rabbit's Myspace Plex Long: Being a music producer i find myself wrapped up in all kinds of music projects. I been werkin with a sick emcee named Plex Long. We've totally spent the last two years coming up with the perfect formula to blend his complex flow with my abstract beats. We are spreading the message of truth based on our own personal experiences in the hopes that others will find the truth in their own lives. A lot of time and energy has gone into this project. Multiple collaborations on a musical and lyrical level have turned this into a serious collection of tunes. Whether you love it or hate it, you have to respect it. What we are doing is real, and thanks to the ppl we love and love us, we continue to do what we do. Our album should be available early 07. Check out his page for now tho... Plex Long's Myspace
Young Corrupt Protege: YCP is what happened when I took all my studio all stars and put them all on the same project. We are an improv, beat oriented group with the combine styles of all the best musicians I work with. We are currently in the studio putting together songs, concepts, aligning members, putting together our live show, and all the other stuff that comes along with starting a new group. We have a few singles scattered over myspace to give ya'll an idea what's about to happen. Don't excpect anything serious till early next year tho. Abstract Logic Recordings: This is my oldest project. Originally the name for my early production work. It has now turned into a fairly well known electronic music label/production company. The combine efforts of REL1, Eric Z, Myself, and everyone who has been a part since the beginning have turned this into a recognizable name in the Atlanta electronic music scene. ALR holds down a weekly breakbeat internet broadcast on the biggest breakbeat radio station ( BreaksFM.com ) in the world starting at 8 every Sunday. ALR also bi-weekly hosts the upstairs to the biggest drum and bass weekly event in Atlanta. The ALR site is coming soon. It'll have copies of our tracks, and all the other good stuff that comes along with it. ALR STUDIOS: When i actually find the time to set up a site for this it'll be the spot where i sell my beats and other production from. I've got all kinds of beats that are only one sick rap away from being on the radio, or on someone's demo cd. The site will also have all the details of studio time, rates, and appointment setting. Like i said. When i find the time this will happen. Until then holla at me from here if you wanna collaborate, need some beats or studio time. My DJ Style: I've been mixing tracks together for over 6 years. At the moment i use Ableton live when i mix. It's the most amazing way to mix music. It turns my entire mp3 collection and sample library into a smorgasbord of audio nuggets. It also gives me the ability to create new and fresh remixes right before your very eyes. By nature, this makes my sets unique and individual to the crowd i'm playing for at the time. I still have crates of vinyl (I still incorporate the vinyl even when i'm on my laptop), but ever since i've gone digital, It's been a hell of a lot easier staying current and up to date with my favorite styles of music. Being a digital dj also gives me the ability to mashup and mix styles of music that normal djs would have a hard time blending. I like to keep my sets full of happy surprises that keep ppl interested and entertained. I can play hours and hours of drum & bass, mainstream and underground hip hop, house, downtempo, original breakbeat tracks, or whatever. Things I've been a part of: Over the past few years i've made tons of tracks and worked with all kinds of artists, producers, labels, and management companies. I've produced tracks for several upcoming underground, and mainstream artists that have landed on mix tapes, movies, websites, and other mediums. I've made remixes for all kinds of folks such as Opposing Force, and Uncrowned. I've put together over 6 or 7 full length mixes that contained all original tracks and remixes of all styles of music ranging from hip hop to drum and bass, Held down weekly events at various clubs, and rocked out all styles of music in some of the most famous and not so famous Atlanta clubs and bars. I've heard of deejay's playing my remixes and production in capacity filled clubs, on internet, fm radio broadcasts!! And to top it all off, I produced a handful of tracks for a soon-to-be nationally released childrens album. Currently: I've always been obsessed with video so i decided to start doing something. I'm putting together a screenplay for a romantic comedy "short." It's gonna be a major project with a lot of work but it will happen. The goal is to start filming by this summer. Expect Random Rabbit to do the score. :) Random Rabbit is currently working on putting together a tour along with their second album to be release sometime this year. I'm also putting the finishing touches on Plex Long's album to be released this year as well. We are also in the process of starting a new label to house Random Rabbit and the collaborations/side projects that we have started. Needless to say, I'm making websites, graphics, and all the other stuff that goes along with these kinds of endeavors so be patient. Good things come to those who wait!
