Derek Bailey

Emerging R&B artist Derek Bailey has been playing music since the age of five. The East Chicago, IN-native has made his mark in the music scenes of Chicago, Denver and New York. Bailey has written and produced music for nationally renowned Gospel artist Euclid Gray (formerly of R&B group Public Announcement), as well as R&B songstress Felicia and gospel singer Carlis Moody.

Bailey cites Howard Hewitt, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, New Edition and Take 6 as his major influences. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar and trumpet), Bailey also finds inspiration in current artists such as Maxwell, R. Kelly and Musiq Soulchild. Like his trumpeter/producer hero Quincy Jones, Bailey strives to make a mark in the R&B music industry through innovation, creativity and a drive for excellence.
