Biography
GIOM was born and raised in Niort, France. He now lives in London where, when he's not busy touring and recording with various artists as a session drummer, he djs and produces Deep House music. Influenced by Djs such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and DJ Sneak, he released his first track in 2006 on DJ Heather's Blackcherry Recordings, under a license from OM Records. He quickly gained the support of some of the world's biggest underground House Djs, with Mark Farina, Dj Heather, Diz, Johnny Fiasco and the Lawnchair Generals all playing his tracks during their sets. Following the success of his Blackcherry release, GIOM went on doing a few remixes for the likes of Jay West, Gabriel Black, Swirl People and Vernon & Dacosta. His remix of Vernon & Dacosta's "As Darkness Falls" is arguably one of the biggest Underground House cuts of 2007. His first solo EP was then released in July 2007 on San Francisco's Motion Music. The "People Ep" quickly went to number 1 at both Primal Records and Juno Records best sellers chart ! Another track, “Never”, was released around the same time on digital label Fazed Music. Including a remix from top US producer John Larner (.Dotbleep, Guesthouse, Positiva), it went to number 2 of the www.stompy.com top 100 download chart. More recently, his remix of NU-Soul singer Natalie Williams (U Don’t Know – Giom Remix – Aroma Recordings) topped the Juno Records’ Deep House chart, and all the tracks of his upcoming “Stolen Soul EP” (Amenti Music) have already been licensed to 2 compilations: Olivier Desmet & Inland Knights ‘ San Francisco Sessions on Om Records, and Mark Farina’s brand new Fabric Mix cd. Upcoming work include remixes on labels such as Om Records, Kolour Recordings and Reverberations as well as the release of his debut EP for AMENTI Music, “Stolen Soul”. In the past year, GIOM got to play alongside great Djs such as Fred Everything, JT Donaldson, the Lawnchair Generals, The Rurals, Jamanta Crew, Raoul Belmans, Jay West, Massimo Dacosta, Luke Mckeehan and Atnarko… all topped off in May 2008 with his debut at Fabric London. GIOM is also half of Bobby & Klein (Guesthouse, Oomph, Ringside, etc...)
