BO DURTY

These days, BO DURTY can be spotted at various venues performing upon the crowd's yelling requests. The sweat and rhythmic chaos are almost like the parties these same people would attend throughout Miami Beach's seven- mile stretch. Regardless of what big names have sponsored him in the past, or who he's bumped heads with, his only claim to fame belongs to his faithful Beach Klique that once bought his mixtapes and continues to buy his CD's.
The origins of his consistent and meticulous work ethic can be traced back to his upbringing in a strict Syrian Muslim home, where he was expected to be a part of the family business. When his passion for music directed him behind two turntables and the name JUMBO (referring to his 300 lb. Size), his family shrugged off his dreams as a 13 year old's fading phase. JUMBO was more than just a charismatic DJ- he was an entertainer, and a solid name known throughout every party clique. As he recorded mixtapes with booty music on Side A and gangsta rap on Side B, his improvisational nature led him to freestyling rhymes. At that point, he realized that he was being held back as a DJ and it was time for him to step up from behind the turntables. A hundred pounds thinner, DJ JUMBO became BO DURTY- an alias he explains "took BO to keep JUMBO alive, and DURTY- because the DURTY SOUTH is where I'm at."
After dealing with false promises and second thought from big hitters in the industry, he never quit because purpose was rooted in his struggle. You can say that he's married to the game, and the BO DURTY persona is not a character or a stage name, but as he declares, "It's the reason why I'm here." His one determination is to put the real North Beach on the map, with his movement. In the words of BO DURTY, "Underground legend f*%k a one hit wonder"!
