A-ROCK

The origin of the nickname A-ROCK came from his older brother, right before he was shipped off to serve a 5 year prison sentence. Living under his brother’s shadow A-ROCK was forced to grow up faster than most, inheriting battles and beefs left behind. With his brother locked behind bars, he had no choice but to start hustling generating revenue to survive. A-ROCK turned to music purchasing dj equipment and vinyl to escape from the everyday struggle. He then started djing for house parties, and local clubs in the North Beach area with colleagues JUMBO and Dj Affect in the early days of high school.
The djing days slow down, and so did his education, as A-ROCK dropped out of high school with his first child on the way. Still hustling and working a full time job, he still possessed the passion for music, but was put on hold with his second child on the way. A year later, A-ROCK was set on writing music and bought a composition book jotting ideas and hooks for songs. While working as a bouncer at a popular venue in South Beach, he reunited with long time friend and partner JUMBO now known as BO DURTY lending a helping hand in promoting BO’s first album release.
After months of hard work, A-ROCK was now ready to make his ideas and concepts come to life. He was exposed to the studio learning the tricks of the trade, and taking on a third full time job. As BO DURTY’s protégé his life of trials and tribulations will separate him from the rest. Serving as general of DURT GANG LLC, A-ROCK states “I’m da Mister Go Getta with Beach Klique Geez on my back”!
