JEFFtheband is an Atlanta based rock trio powered by Grammy Award winner Robert Hannon (bass, vocals), Marcelo de Sautu (guitar, lead vocals),
and Matt Urbanek (drums, vocals). Combining melodic
vocals, a punchy rhythm section, and crunchy guitars, JEFFtheband brings a powerful sound and
show to the stage. Drawing on influences from Black Sabbath, Rush and Kiss to The Cure,
Alice In Chains and STP, JEFFtheband has crafted catchy songs and a memorable live experience.Matt and Marcelo moved to Atlanta from Texas in 2000. Under the name Blind Spot, they
played venues like CJ’s Landing, Dark Horse and Smith’s Olde Bar. After a two year hiatus
and joining with local engineer/producer Robert, they have returned as JEFFtheband. The name is
a tribute to Marcelo’s late but great dog that had been with the band since its
beginnings in Austin, Texas.
