About Me

Check Out Our New Work of Art: The City of Lost Dreams!
Perhaps Glenn Alan is best known for "How Do you Love a Black Woman", the smash hit play and book. In it, Glenn poses more than a question and offers more than the answer, as he meticulously details his narrative quest, delivering lessons of love that do not always come so easily. He seriously began pursuing his interest in writing in 1986 while attending Howard University. Since that time, he has created voluminous works, which include books of poetry, plays, music, short stories and concerts of jazz poetry. Much of his work has been used for critical literary analysis in college literature courses. He has written ten plays: "How Do You Love a Black Woman", "The Weight of Being Black", "Strangers at the Gate", "Daddy’s Got Needs", "Black on Trial", "Little Black Lies", "The Televised Revolution", "Locked Down", and "Don’t Sing No Blues for Me." He is currently putting the finishing touch on his eleventh, the second play in his Blues Series, entitled "Blues for Lula May." He has also completed two collections of short stories "A Collection of Short Stories" and "The Words of a Ghetto Child."Much of his poetry is encased in seven completed collections "How Do You Love a Black Woman", "The Tears of a Man", "The Price of My Soul", "Bedtime Stories for Project Kids", "I Ain’t Black no mo’", "From Greatness to the Ghetto", and a jazz-poetry concert with long time friend and legendary bassist B.T. Richardson "Sweet Prince of the Ghetto." The two joined up again to create the music for "Don't Sing No Blues For Me." You can cop the CD at www.cdbaby.com/cd/btrichardson.Glenn has three unpublished novels "Blues on Heald Street", "Two Tickets Home" (with Rhondda Robinson) and "The Diary of a man in Love."Glenn lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Mary.
