Dark Mark

At the age of thirteen I started playing the drums, and have since held a keen interest in music. By the age of fourteen I was already a member of a band which did regular local gigs. At sixteen our band had become successful and we were playing bigger gigs to larger crowds. Playing live helped me gain knowledge using different equipment and how to get that all important sound.At seventeen my interests began to broaden and I became interested in dance music, DJing and music production. I sold my drum kit and with the money bought my first pair of turntables and mixer. I quickly established how to beat match, and through much practice learned how to scratch within a few months. By this time I had become familiar with audio editing programs such as Cool Edit and multi-track software such as Rebirth and Cubase. At 18 I was producing my own tracks and DJ'ing live at the Selston Youth Centre where we would have rave nights playing music such as hardcore, drum & bass, techno and hard house.At nineteen I quit my full time job and enrolled on a BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology at NCN College Nottingham. This helped me to become fully versed in the use of Logic Audio and also helped me to gain knowledge about the business aspects of music. In addition to this I am adept in a recording studio environment, for which I have extensive knowledge of microphone techniques, signal flow, health and safety, and numerous skills and attributes to create professional sounding productions.I currently own a home studio which I regularly use to produce hard dance tracks.
