Without music, life is a journey through a desert

About Me

Hello and Welcome to My Page.
My name is Hooman Tabrizi, and I was born in Tehran, Iran 1975. I obtained my BS in Biology/Chemistry from Belmont University in Nashville, TN in 1998. Prior to that I attended college in Iran. I currently work in the field of Healthcare Information Technology as an Implementation Manager.
I started playing the Piano at the age of 15. However, my passion for Music began way before I ever got the chance to lay my hands on a musical instrument. My first instructor was Mr. Abolghaasem Nakhaie, who so patiently taught me the basics, and directed me towards the path of Western Classical Music. As I learned more, I became much more interested in performing Traditional and Classical Persian pieces on the Piano.
Through fate and luck, I came across one of the greatest musicians in the history of Persian music, the late and the great Ostad Javad Maroufi , and had the honor and the privilege of being his student for two years before he passed away. After his death, I lost the will to continue, and stopped playing for well over a year. But the love I had for music pulled me back in, and I have been on my own ever since.
Music will always be a huge part of my life and I hope I can share that with you in a smaller scale. I dedicate this page to Ostad Maroufi. May he rest in peace.
