About Me
DECA's In Da Buildin'! If you hear these words you should prepare yourself. Prepare yourself to see an entourage of people, all draped with diamonds, some of them with a picture of a big fist holding money on their shirts. Prepare yourself to hear the crowd sing along to one of a number of Tampa and Florida hits, all blessed with the voice that no one is ready for when they hear it for the first time. But mostly prepare yourself to encounter a person who is vastly bigger than his surroundings. An artist whose potential could reach much further than the state of Florida and will grow beyond the States period. Prepare yourself for a rapper who is known in Florida as a great artist, but will be known internationally as a superstar.
DECA's buzz in the streets and in the clubs was gained not by trying to project an image he is not, but instead by making the best music in the area, getting it to the dee-jays, and then the people. His first notable single "IN MY CUPP" was a song that caught the ear of the streets and coined the phrase "DECA's In Da Buildin". Since he was already a mainstay in the Tampa nightlife before he was legally allowed to drink, he already built relationships with all the deejays at all the best clubs. Week after week, every night DECA would hit the club scene pushing his single with his now infamous white labels on the cover. This constant grind helped DECA get a name locally and accompanied with the club hit "SWEAT!!!", a single that was shared with Tampa Jook artist Strizzo, DECA's name and voice quickly became one of the most recognized in Tampa Hip Hop.
With two singles and multiple spins on the radio and in the clubs under his belt, it was now time for DECA to make his next move. It was a powerful one. One that would catapult his image and movement to new heights that nobody, other than the believers, thought were possible. Blood Money Union, or BMU as it is more often called, was born and with it came an anthem. "MONEY" was an aggressive, testosterone driven sound riot of diamonds, drugs, alcohol, and cash all being bellowed through the speakers by DECA's patented growl. The second half of BMU's founding fathers, 2 Pistols, blessed the second verse with a "look-at-me" braggadocio that would rival any gold-mouthed rapper in the game today. Along with a matching video, party, and groupies, "MONEY" was the first single released out of the BMU camp and helped show the state of Florida that Tampa was now home to a new force. Tampa was now home to Blood Money Union. BMU has gained such notoriety that in October of 2007 the Grammy-Award winning production team Justice League helped them land a label deal with Universal Records.
With a big voice and an even bigger vision, DECA now sees opportunity on the horizon. With his next single "Da Bottom", a club thumping return to his Jook roots, DECA is telling the ladies at the club to take it all the way to the floor. But his most risky track to date titled, "DECA's ...In Da Buildin'"(D.I.D.B.) pays homage to the art of getting twisted. A word by word, drunken breakdown of a night on the town with DECA awaits the listener, complete with drugs, naked groupies, and plenty of shots for all. "D.I.D.B" sounds like nothing ever to hit the states. Partly because the composer of the beat, G-Red, is from Europe, DECA's home continent. A song like "D.I.D.B." forced DECA to reach out of his comfort zone and go to another level. A level that he knows he and his fans are ready to go to.
Now, after being featured on more than 30 mixtapes and adding Universal Recording artist Piotta as an international affiliate, DECA is ready to take risks with his career creatively and in a business sense. There are now t-shirts all across the south with one of DECA's most memorable phrases. It's something that he tells all rappers who don't quite have what it takes to make it. Some people say its downing other's careers. Some say it's just a dose of needed reality to those who aren't blessed with rhyme skills. DECA's philosophy is that people need to find their role in this game and stick with it. For those who haven't heard the advice he gives to those clogging up the music scene, DECA says only 2 words. "Quit Rappin." If you didn't realize it, you should prepare yourself. DECA's IN DA BUILDIN'!
