About Me

»-(¯`v´¯)-» Design your MySpace with MyLook «-(¯`v´¯)-« Jozana started his musical journey in this thing called house in the early '80s at the age of 13. He credits The Hot Mix 5, Ron Hardy, and Lil' Louis as his major influences in dance music. "My father was a music professor so he made sure we were exposed to so many different genres of music." After DJing for more than a decade in and around Chicago, in the late '90s he decided to take the route of many before him and start producing, which culminated into winning the 2004 West End Records International Music Search with his song " If Things Don't Get Better" with Avery J. Young on vocals. "I've had some people in the past complain because I sometimes play house music a lot slower than a lot of DJs but I think because of my South African heritage, that's how I feel it." Next up for Jozana are projects with Cei Bei, Carolyn Victorian, and teaming up with Avery Young once again. It's been almost 2 years since Jozana has played in Detroit – since his days as an Urban Organic resident at LUSH in Hamtramck . Stay tuned for his new single, "I Told You So " featuring Cei Bei on Unified Records with remixes by Glenn Underground, which, after promotions at the Winter Music Conference in Miami 2 years ago has been tearing up dance floors around the globe.
