About Me
Hailing from the urban precincts of Toronto spilling onto the world stage comes DJ Christopher Michaels. As one of the countries most respected DJs, Chris Mikes hauls out rhythm from his vinyl; spinning all forms of urban variety. He is one of the few DJs who can successfully dominate parties for both mature and young clientele. He has played at virtually all venues in Toronto catering to these crowds and has rocked several classic Toronto hot spots including Studio 69 and Fluid Lounge. Christopher has also played at exclusive celebrity parties for NBA All-Star Vince Carter, Stevie J. (Bad Boy Records), video directors Mr. X & Hype Williams, Jamie Fox, Lennox Lewis, Vanessa Williams, Russell Simmons & Reverend Run and Russell "Somebody Gonna Get Hurt" Peters. This multi-award winning DJ began his commercial radio career by co-hosting the all-old school mix show, Reflections, alongside Canadian Idol judge Farley Flex on FLOW 93.5FM (Toronto, 2001-2003). He also supports hip hop’s powerhouse, urban artist Arabesque, providing the sound behind the booming act. As the resident mixshow DJ on weekends at Flow, his show - The ChrisMix, has captured the attention of 450,000 listeners. With a growing listenership his following continues to intensify, putting Christopher Michaels on 2007s most sought after list. With followings in Toronto, New York, LA and overseas the British born DJ continues his ambush on the Urban Scene. With a career spanning over a decade, Chris Mikes has developed within what is undoubtedly a fickle scene, always keeping his finger on the pulse, entertaining new ideas whilst developing old ones. He never fails to execute, and reads a crowd in a way that is rarely equaled, knowing exactly where and how to take the night through the roof.
