Changing lives one long jam at a time

About Me

Imagine four guys, forced to practically stand on their own amps just so they could all fit into the smallest room at the rehearsal studio late one Monday night. They dragged one song through the mud, section by section and attempted to play the whole thing through one more time without stopping. It eventually happened, but the process was far from enjoyable. It seemed like it would take forever for the small no name band to complete the project.Ten months, numerous rehearsals, thousands of dollars, and days of well spent time later, Mixed Company finished recording and mixing their first, full-length album. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------- MIXED COMPANY is a four-piece, alternative rock band from southern California. Their sound is diverse enough to cover almost all rock genres but steady enough to keep their fans from developing as sort of A.D.D. for music. The band got together back in the middle of March, 2005 as a result of a previous project that Robert (drums); Ryan (rhythm guitar) and Dominic (lead guitar) were all a part of. Dominic had been trying to get a band together for a couple of years so that he could finally take his music (although it still sounded good on the acoustic guitar) off the acoustic and put a bigger sound behind it. SO the three branched off, and decided to get to work. They asked Ashley Wilson if he wanted to play bass in the band and he gladly accepted the offer (Ash and Dominic had been playing acoustic open-mic sessions at a small coffee house in Orange, CA for about a year until the band was finally put together. The four members started meeting almost twice a week for rehearsals working on at least one song per rehearsal. Eventually, they finished all the songs that they had wanted to work on to a point where they could play them flawlessly.Ash joined in on the side project that the other three were a part of. As the months went by, the four became familiar with each other's style of playing and formed a very tight-knit, solid band. They decided that a couple more songs needed to be written to complete a debut full length album. The recording process was long and slow but it was more than worth it. Things really didn't go so well the first day they were there. After all the setup, the tuning, the string changing, the getting-rid-of-the-mexican-radio-station-that-was-being-pick ed-up-by-Ryan's-amp situation, they were able to finally track everything but the lead guitar and vocals. It really wasn't all that bad at the end. Day two involved some forgotten instruments, broken congas, and lots of pain killers. Dominic eventually got all of his stuff tracked. Eventually they emerged with a full length album worthy of even the most discerning ear. With the completion of the their first album, they plan to get some shows booked, fans riled up, merchandise produced, and make rockin' possible for everyone.
