"...this thrash/progressive power trio is gaining recognition as a serious act, not just some band with a hot-looking chick drummer."

Rusty Eye is a Prog Metal L.A. based band with a signature sound that blends together various metal styles with a touch of horror aesthetics. With 12 years of being an independent establishment, Rusty Eye came to life under times of political stress in Mexico City in the year of 1995 by U.S. citizens raised abroad; a strange place for an American-sounding band, but the perfect scenario for something different to be created. They were an active part of the Mexican metal scene -playing its main venues and music festivals alike- but their vision would only come full circle in 2004 when they relocated to the city of Hollywood, CA.
Rusty Eye's evolution throughout the years has been moving strategically and prolifically forward, creating this way an interesting cult following and group of core fans. The band has produced under their own Epoche Records 4 independent album releases since 2001 in the U.S. (Rust 'n Roll, Cryogenic, Live at the Joint, and Stendhal Syndrome), 12 demo releases are still being bootlegged in foreign countries. A fifth release is in the works due this summer of 2008.
Hard work and dedication has been recognized by the local press and music industry publications, ranking on Music Connection's Industry list of "TOP 100 UNSIGNED BANDS OF 2006" , being recipients of "Best Heavy Metal Single of the Year" (LA Music Awards 2006), "Best Male Bass Player 2006" and "Best Female Drummer 2005" (by LA Magazine "Rock City News"). In addition, their female drummer Miss Randall was a semi-finalist at NAMM 07's "World's Fastest Drummer Competition".To this date Rusty Eye has played nonstop in and around the vicinities of Los Angeles and Mexico City and will resume their performing activities soon after their latest production is finished.
A significant accomplishment was the creation of their music video "Mr. Cannibal" in 2007 . The video was a high-budget sponsored production, filmed on 16 mm. in the style of Grindhouse B-Movies. It tells the story behind the explicitly lyrical song about cannibalistic pining and anthropofagia (paying homage to directors such as: Lamberto Bava, Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, and Dario Argento). Mr. Cannibal was directed/produced by Alejandro Ordonez with the addition of a talented crew of film industry luminaires, including Bryan Robbins and Eric Leach (Cabin Fever). The poster was made by the illustrator Stephen Romano (www.shockfestival.net) and the outer layout was done by Mr. Rust.
