Blue Eyed Soul

About Me

New Year, time for a new bio, doncha think?

McCarron Best has been singing since breath first graced her body. Thankfully, she's discovered, she's pretty darn good at it!

She set out on a musical journey a few years ago. And what started as a hobby has turned into a full blown passion. She began as a shy studio singer (check out the tracks above for tunes from that era), writing and singing mostly breaks, with a little house, downtempo, and dnb thrown in. As her confidence grew, she decided to come out of the booth and try her luck on stage.

Luckily for her, she had friends with more confindence in her abilities than she did at that time. The Torque crew in Orlando and the Stateside Collective Crew in Tampa both encouraged her to get in the mix as a vocal MC for their DnB endeavors. She fell in love! The ensuing year found her pursuing her new found love all over the state of Florida. From Miami to Gainesville, and everywhere in between, she's shared a stage with some of the biggest names in DnB. These include: Reid Speed, Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Bailey, Spor, Black Sun Empire, Danny Byrd, Basic Ops, Logistics, Ewun, and her heroes and inspiration: LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad. As her journey into DnB continues, she hopes to soon gig outside of Florida, and eventually the U.S. too!

Lately, McCarron has entered another phase in her musical progression. House music has entered her blood! With the help and encouragement of TampaHouseMusic.com, she has started vocalizing live over House as well as DnB. You can check her out almost every First Friday at the Don Leoncio Cigar Lounge in downtown St. Pete. This new facet of her musical evolution has opened the doors for yet more recording. Hopefully you'll soon be able to see (and hear) the fruits of her labor pressed on vinyl.

Finally, there is one more way you can hear Ms. McCarron sing. She is the voice of all the parody jingles and songs on 93.3 FM's MJ Morning show. Although, if you ask her, she'll probably deny it!

2006 saw McCarron assert herself as a force to be reckoned with in the Florida DnB scene. Hopefully 2007 will see the same thing happen with House. Either way, as always, expect big things from this Little Girl with the Big Voice!

So here's two videos of Torque's 8 Year Anniversary party. I have a cheap videocamera, so there's not a lot of light....but you can still hear and sort of see what's going on.

This one is Circle K on the decks with me and ANTI on the mic:

Lack of creativity =

I'm far too scatterbrained right now to actually write anything coherent, so I figured I'd bite the style of one of my favorite blogs and just list a bunch of random, probably unconnected shit and hop...

Yuck.

One of my cats keeps throwing up.  I don't know why, but since it's become a quasi-regular occurence, I've given up the "she must have eaten a bug by mistake" theory. Sigh. Does anyone know what ...

I got two letters today, and I'm not sure which one scares me more.

That's right.  I'm being recruited!   Apparently both the Marines and the Scientologists think I should join their club.   Unfortunatlely, I'm going to have to pass on both wonderful op...

It finally happened: I'm old.

And by old, I actually mean boring. I was supposed to play a show last night at the The Underground.  Instead, I worked from 8-4:30, then went to class from 6-9, and then went home and...

What a waste of a week

So I'm sick.  Technically I have a sinus and an upper respiratory infection.  What that means is that I can't breathe out of my nose, and the lymph nodes in my neck are so swollen...

The little things

Just taking a quick moment to say what's in my heart. Happiness is all about the little things. This weekend it was about old friends, new beginnings and reveling in the lack of air conditioning!&nbs...

Bukem

I wonder how many of my blogs have to do with Bukem shows?  This will be the first one that I actually played at though, so that makes it all shiny and new. Or something. Such a night. Opening fo...

Bored in Alabama

So, I was right. American Idol = lame. For those that didn't know, I (for some insane reason) decided that even though I've never been a fan of the show, I should fly out to freaking Birmingham, AL to...

What an odd week, and it's only Tuesday!

So I had jury duty yesterday. Interesting stuff if you enjoy watching boring men in boring suits ask questions of a room full of people all intent on saying anything they can to leave as soon as possi...
