Born in Oakland and raised in Los Angeles, California, Epic had been in various rap groups before settling into a solo career. In the beginning with no real desire to rap, Epic’s gift was writing. He would write short stories and scripts for movies and plays. As a shy child Epic would find peace in writing, but God had an entirely different plan for his life. During his teenage years his brother formed a rap group called Divine Quest. The group at the time consisted of P.S. Shar (Epic’s brother) and a friend. His brother felt that the group needed a third member and with some encouragement from their mother Epic joined the fold. Little did they know that this arrangement would birth a great desire in Epic to master his craft. After D.Q. disbanded Epic went solo doing his own music ministering at various churches and talent shows. As he gained attention from his peers and grew more confident he decided to hook up with five other emcees and the group ‘79’ was born. Though they were unheard of by the mainstream ‘79’ was successful selling over 7000 copies with no major marketing or promotional backing. Through the experience Epic began to see a bigger picture of how a person that believes in Jesus can make a major impact in this world. Traveling from New York to Texas, Virginia to Arizona, the vision grew. Epic has been blessed to share the stage (in ministry) with Gospel greats like Kirk Franklin, Tonex, Trin-I-Tee 5:7, Brent Jones & The T.P. Mob, Idol King, Frost T, Spiritual Pieces and producer Rodney Jerkins. Epic also has been blessed to minister at The Rose Bowl for Billy Graham’s farewell crusade. Epic has also been featured on City Van for the TBN network, has a video “Like it” in rotation on the Word Network and CCC’s (Crenshaw Christian Center) Hip Hop Sunday telecast & DVD. Epic has truly found God’s divine purpose for his life being a messenger for Jesus to the hip hop culture. Now as CEO of his own umbrella Epicenter Ent, Productions and Ministries Epic is reaching far beyond what that shy little boy ever thought possible. Epic has been featured on several projects from local and regional artist like S.Y.G’z (Straight Young Gangstaz), Tiffany Laing, Prophet X and many others. With help from Brx2 Music and Diamante Distributions Epic’s solo career start once again with “The second coming of hip hop” compilation which has sold thousands. His first solo project titled “The First” followed selling over 4000 copies, Stress the first single (off The First) made top ten on various radio charts. Epic also completed his sophomore project “Sports, Entertainment or The Streets” which has continued a buzz. Living in the heart of South Central LA, S.E.S. gives a raw but inspirational view of street life’s struggles and triumphs. The Cd’s main focus is to bridge the gap between the streets and the church shedding light on some of our cultures growing problems. With his new Cd “Black McGyver” on the way he shows no signs of slowing down. Epic pushes himself to deliver music that challenges and rivals mainstream music. He strives for the blessing and prosperity of God in his life so he can be a testament of His goodness. MyGen Profile Generator
