I am not entirely sure what my interests are as compared to the "About me" section. I am interested in what I do and who I am. I am interested in audio, but I am not..... a gear person. I am more of a system engineer/tech, then a console person. I ACTUALLY enjoy patching stages and flying PA (pitiful isn't it?) Though, I will run a board if a good, enjoyable oppertunity comes up. I like to be challenged technically. I never thought I would have any interest in the ARTISTIC aspects of sound design. I orginally went to The North Carolina School of the Arts with the intention of learning as much technical knowledge as possible and getting a BFA at the same time. But somehow while absorbing all that info, I caught the artist bug and was literally FORCED to claim sound design as my art form and an important art form to the theater. I am determined to ignore said interest until I feel like settling down, but ..... someday something will happen.... somehow I know God didn't accidentally open that door and is planning on tricking me into another unexplainable (tho completely correct) career choice. I am also interested in the outdoors, camping, canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, etc.... I played with the idea of becoming a forest ranger for quite a few years. And I really like animals. I had plans to be a vet until God called me to go into Christian music as an audio engineer. I have three collections that already take up far too much space in my small apartment: shotglasses, elepants, and lighthouses. Soooo.... i can't say my interests are very interesting for anyone else, but there you go.
Well..... I already meet so many great people every day that I can't remember them all. I am not "actively" looking for a romantic relationship, because I have faith that that will happen in due time. And I don't have time to properly invest in something like that right now. (and THAT is my most pitiful excuse)I like to meet people..... just people in general. I love people. I have to admit most of the people I meet are guys and most of my friends are guys, but that is just the industry I am in. Does that answer the question??
Most people seem to list every artist they like....... but I'm not good with names..... nor do i really care enough to make an effort..... the music is the important part.... not the name of the artist (oh, is that blasphemy? oops) I like just about every genre of music ---I was raised on rock, folk, bluegrass, and rap music (being from Baltimore) --- and then there is Byzantine chant from church --- and all kinds of alternative ---i really like the sound of clean guitars, piano and violins --- esp mixed in with a good rythmn --- and anything with a strong or powerful vocal is usually pretty good --- i am a little sensative to lyrics --- not because I don't appreciate the art behind the music --- just because i naturally pick lyrics up and anyone who is under the illusion that audio/music doesn't have a strong influence on the sub-conscious is greatly misled --- i already have enough trouble guiding my heart and mind in the proper direction, the least I can do is try to keep sub-conscious influences away. They are a little difficult to control. :)
Yes, I like movies .... umm... yeah.... that's it :) unless you are unlucky enough to watch a movie with me --- I get .... ummm.... very drawn into movies .... and often have very large reactions to the action onscreen --- which I try to control, but (ask my friends) it often is a bit out-of-control
not a big television buff --- carefully didn't get cable/satellite in my new place so that I wouldn't be tempted to watch it --- and waste huge amounts of time --- but i do have a TV and selectively watch movies
There isn't a specific book --- C.S. Lewis has always been my favorite author --- tho I have been rereading St. Athanasius's On the Incarnation and find it to be a really great book on theology
I don't exactly have any heros in my life --- people I respect a lot, but not heros --- if anything, I would call the Saints my heros --- tho they are more .... people to emulate then Heros.
