Botta formed in March of 2007 after band founder Daniel Gomez, and long time collaborator/drummer Seth Elias finished production of what was to be the bands debut album, "Pedazos de mi en el tape". Shortly after wrapping production Daniel and Seth brought in long time friend and former band-mate Santiago Torres on keyboards, and newcomer to the scene Tim MacCabe on bass guitar. Touring on the album the newly formed band began to take on form and shape quickly catching the attention of the industry and fans alike. The album, with thoughtful lyrics and deep, emotional subjects became a critical success, and contained several popular tracks such as, "Pajarito," and it's title track, "Pedazos de mi en el tape." Daniel, who wrote and produced the album was now cemented as one of the hottest new songwriters on the scene. Botta played only a few shows in the beginning of 2008 choosing instead to enter the studio and record their second album and first collabrotive effort. Despite enduring many personal challenges and line-up changes along the way, the new album Radio Universal was completed in May 2009.
