Hi! I'm Heather Finley. I've been working as a semi-professional photographer for almost four years now. Now I get paid so I guess that makes me pro right?
Anyways, I started taking pictures at concerts in high school and my parents decided to buy me a super nice camera after graduation. Well I started bring that to shows and someone happened to think I looked professional and offered me a job at an online music magizine. Thankfully I had some natural talent with taking pictures and people to help me out a lot along the way. Very special thanks to Brian and Kobbi Blair, Tim LaBarge, and Jackie Butler.
I've been doing concert photography ever since and have gotten damn good at it if you ask me. My concert work has made its way onto many band myspace pages, band members personal myspaces, band webpages, a few ads, and even Death Before Dishonour magazine (the pictures were for the cover story by the way). A few bands that deserve a shout out for helping me a lot along the way or just for being super nice include but are not limited to On The Last Day, The Higher, Straylight Run, Spitalfield, The Bled, My American Heart, Plain White T's (I got in Alternative Press talking about them years ago before they were everywhere) and Hot Rod Circuit.
As of November 2007, I am employed by Napkin Nights as an event photographer in Portland. It is a fun job where I get to meet amazing people every night. I hope to work hard and help the company make it huge in Portland like they are in other cities. If you have an question or are looking for a photographer for anything, feel free to shoot me a message. I can also be reached through email at [email protected]
