"When you listen to the songs...you realize the style and passion this band has."
The story of SunSets North begins in the city of Allentown, Pennsylvania, when Warren North began playing guitar, and singing in the high school choir. A few years later, he realized music was his passion, and set out to follow his dream. In the short time he was a solo performer, he released a five track acoustic EP entitled "What You Live For"
The songs "Late Nights and Long Distance" and "Tell all Your Friends In Florence I Said Hi" were written in November of 2005 by Warren, and it was shortly after that "Return to Sender" was conceived. Rookie Miller (an old friend of Warren’s) joined in the spring that year, and helped finish writing and recording the rest of the album.
"Everything we wrote just flowed from our fingers... The writing and recording of the rest of the album was complete in a matter of weeks. It's awesome how these songs came out so smoothly...but it was even better that our producers loved the songs as much as we did" -Warren North
The album was self-released and promoted by Warren North and was produced by Rob Freeman (Hidden in Plain View, The Pilot), Joe Chudyk (Greater Than Productions) and Dan Marsh (The Soundmine). Following this, Rookie and Warren played a handful of acoustic shows, in and out of the Lehigh Valley, over the next few months.
Piecing the puzzle together one by one, Warren and Rookie put together the band. Warren's cousin Paul North was added to cover bass. Joe Chudyk (sTop/waTch), who recorded and produced part of the album, coincidently was a good friend of Paul and was added to the band. The guys knew that something was still missing, and Steve Duda, who was a high school friend of Joe and Paul, was added as the lead guitarist. With Joe's love for digital/electronic music and main-stream power pop, he was the perfect fit for the percussion and electronic section. Combined with Steve's bone crushing, yet subtle leads, Warren and the guys knew that the band was complete.
Since the formation SunSets North, they have performed with Preliminary Grammy Nominated band Kartune, were part of Illicks Mill's River Fusion in May of 2006 with Hello Goodbye, were named the Entertainer of the Month at the Old Brewery Tavern in Bethlehem, PA , made the cover of Pulse Weekly (February 21, 2007), and Band of the Week in Merge Magazine (March 15, 2007).
SunSets North is currently undergoing some member changes and recording their 2nd full length record "Forever's End" which will be coming out late 2008
With style and passion, Sunsets North promises to be a band that will go all the way and influence others the way so many have influenced them.
