About Me

I mostly just play around with the music thing now.. I guess I don't have enough time for it anymore. I still play a little around here, but not that much. I guess I'm growing up... Bout time ehh. I guess my boy helpped me realise what's really going on. I do like talking to new people and I do have an open mind. Leave me a message if ya want to; I'll respond.......Well anyways, It all started with an A/V class in high school 1994. We had a class that required you to go inside a room full of equipment and play records, cds, and talk on the mic like you were on a radio station. There were two lunch shifts. When I was in the "Radio-Room" all the students in an area called "the mall" could listen to the show. It was like another luch room area. I really enjoyed the fact that I could manipulate the sounds on a record, and i would try to scratch and mix spoken words tracks over cool tunes. The teacher decided to cancel the course after that year due to lack of other students interest, so she offered the equipment up for a sealed auction. I won. I brought all this new gear to my house and got my first job to pay for it.........thats how it got started............ After playing around for a few weeks I met up with an old friend Mark. He had an idea to dj at bars and clubs, so we started to learn the art of mixing. He was waiting for me everyday when I got home from school. We learned the basics and started spinnin at a local bar on friday nights.1995. We played older freestyle breakbeat early and went into the 140+ bpm type stuff later. It was a good place to get experiance, that went on for a year.Marks style was different from mine. He liked to play the more vocal side and I liked the vocoded style it complemented each other great. We started playing at club NEO'S in Baton Rouge and not long after that our styles made us go our seperate ways. I went underground & started making a name for myself playing at second rooms in Raves and after hours clubs. I got into a band(ZOC) around 1997. I layed off the dj gigs to focus on this new adventure. My role was singer/dj. This was cool because I would sing then do a solo on the tables, It was pretty cool back then. We had the drums of Sepultura, guitar of Sonic Youth,Bass of Chile Peppers and Vocals of Rage against the machine. I had fun . The band lasted about a year or so. Djing became a priority in my life. I was really playing out alot between 1998-2001. Iremeber going to the record store and seeing my name on ALL the fliyers in I.V. and Heavyweights. I played Trance! not progressive, not acid, not anthem or boring stuff It was real trance. Platipus records!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One day I was playing in Lake Charles and i couldn't get a good read on the crowd, so I played some hardertechyer stuff still I didn't get the reaction I wanted so I sayed What the hell! I'm playin Jungle. Two songs later i had the whole room jumpin. It was a turning piont in my music. Soon every gig was for a drum n bass set, I had a lot of fun with some of the biggest names. I wish I would have kept the fliers.I'm tired so I'll finish this later.
