I was born in New Orleans but after my parents split, I moved to Riverside County California before I was old enough to remember. I stayed out there until middle school and I moved back to New Orleans to go finish school and be with my dad. I got into computer programming around that same time, by manipulating telecom scripts to 'bot' .. role playing games (they werent really called MUDs then).
Fast forward to 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans and the surrounding areas. For a city that didnt have much hope, Katrina was really the nail in the coffin. Jobs were lost .. schools were lost .. friends and family relocated across the country.
Since all the cool kids were doing it, I left too. I came back to the only other place I knew as home -- California -- to start work at an online retailer (go figure, IT in California huh?).
