UPDATED: 7:36 am PDT May 29, 2007SAN DIEGO -- On Tuesday, authorities released the name of a 44-year-old San Diego man gunned down on Memorial Day while sitting inside a vehicle parked in the driveway of an Encanto-area home. Meredith Jimison, who lived in the 4800 block of Logan Avenue, was pronounced dead at Scripps Mercy Hospital at 6:56 p.m. Monday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.The shooting occurred about two hours earlier when the victim and two other people drove to a home in the 2000 block of Winnett Street, San Diego police said. As the victim waited inside the vehicle while the driver and another passenger entered the residence, another vehicle pulled up nearby, stopping in the middle of Winnett Street, said Lt. Kevin Rooney of the San Diego police Homicide Unit.Two males got out of the vehicle, walked up to Jimison and briefly spoke with him before pulling out pistols and shooting him, he said. The suspect vehicle, described only as a 4-door, teal-colored model, was last seen southbound on Winnett, police said.
