I'm very very happy residing in a lovely bit of South Liverpool with my civil partner (husband!) Chris. I love to see live entertainment especially cabaret, performance art and live art. I love the theatre. I love growing things in our back yard. I like listening to music while I wash up on Saturday morning. I love cooking new things and deciding how to improve the recipe each time. I like having friends come to stay and going for walks in the park. I like travelling to new places. I like sending long and chatty emails to old friends and new contacts alike. I love my job. I like walking to and from work when it's very sunny. I like doing that when it's stormy and windy and the sky is black too. I like shopping for groceries (I mean food shopping really because I'm not American). I like going to places steeped in history and thinking "Ooooh Good Queen So-and-So would have walked on this very ground". I love doing the washing and getting into clean sheets. I love turning the pillows over and feeling the coolness. I love going to see my mum and dad and sitting in the garden until 3 in the morning laughing. I like it when my mum puts Julio Inglesias on when we're having Sunday dinner. I like watching my friends' kids learning stuff and listening to their funny new words and phrases.
God I'm such a Pollyanna!
I also shout at the TV. I grumble at other pedstrians in the street and moan even louder at drivers when I'm crossing the road. I'm outraged at the standard of education nowadays. Even among so called professionals. I hate bigots but often have to stop myself when horrible solutions to the masses of hate mongering mindless in our population pop into my head and I feel compelled to voice them. I love the subversive but am sad to say that I can't be bothered to subvert anything lately although I hope that changes soon...
Anyway... here's a bit of footage from my last show... more soon... xxx

My Interests

Theatre, Cooking, Art, TV, Cinema / DVD, Travel, porn, history, fashion (especially haute couture and vintage).

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who thinks I might have something interesting to say and who might have something interesting to say themselves.

Music:

Kate Bush, Bette Midler, Scissor Sisters, The Feeling, Supertramp, The Kooks, Grace Jones, Oh.... and lots of others. And why did they even bother inventing The Spice Girls when we could have just kept Toto Coelo!!! Eh? WHY?

Movies:

Sweet Charity, Bad Education, Shortbus, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Beautiful Thing, Velvet Goldmine, Personal Services, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Beaches, A Chorus Line, My Neighbour Totoro, William Higgins' Vintage....

Television:

Sex and the City, History Documentary, Travel Documentary, Culture TV, All that home improvement type stuff (not the Disney sitcom... I hated that) and food programmes....

Books:

Clive Barker, Phillip Pulman, Gregory Maguire, Alan Bennett, Roald Dahl, Robert Rodi, Felice Picano, Collette.... And David Starkey because I just can't get enough history and my brain is like a sponge for it and he gives it to me!

Heroes:

My husband Chris:

My Mum & dad... always. And after them? Vivienne Westwood, Bette Midler... is this sounding fickle? Should I have some major humanitarians? I've been inspired and vastly entertained by so many artists but I seldom make heroes of people. I do love Bette and Vivienne though! And Elizabeth I of England... until someone digs up something really horrible about her (apart from the beheadings) to change that.
