About Me

Growing up about 35 miles west of Chicago in a town where the hispanic population outnumbered the white, black and asian populations combined, Emma Bruzer was forced to become a mean old broad at a tender age.
She was known back then for her ability to beat the boys at any game they named. She could eat more hot peppers than anyone else at the lunch table, she could run faster and punch harder, she built and skated the only the half-pipe in town, and she won every grade-school arm-wrestling match she was ever challenged to. Plus, she knew every Spanish obscenity ever spoken, making her a perfect candidate for both the town's street gang and their travelling soccer team.
At age 12, she was sneaking into the bars on Main Street, drinking the vatos under the table, then challenging them to arm wrestling matches for large sums of money. One night, after downing an entire bottle of Matamoros imported tequila and eating the worm, she challenged the wrong man. After losing the match, she staggered out of the bar and jacked his 1969 Pontiac Bonneville. After joyriding through the farmlands of western and central Illinois, she fell asleep at the wheel and ran off into a cornfield. She was charged with grand theft auto and sent to a juvenile detention center in North Carolina.
Carolina was very different than the flatlands and cornfields Emma was used to. There was no skate punk, no gangsta rap, and certainly no hardcore. Even soccer was a different sport down there. Still showing up the boys in the weight room and unable to refrain from slide-tackling on the soccer field, she was recruited as the first female member of the reform school football team. She became known for her "double-d" offense, a play which involved her flashing the opposing defensive line just after the ball was hiked, ensuring the quarterback a clear path to the end zone.
After being released from the detention center with an expunged record at age 17, Emma returned to Chicago, this time taking up in the city with a bunch of like-minded thugs and punk rockers and using her hot bod to make some dough working the oldest profession in the book: bartending.
While working at a bar in then-rough-and-tumble Wicker Park, Emma met up with Val Capone, a like-minded filly who ran with a pretty rough crowd of broads. Soon thereafter, Val invited Emma to join up with a skate gang called The Windy City Rollers. Much to Emma's surprise, it turned out that the WCR was actually a roller derby league, not a skate gang. Regardless, it involved skating and beating people up, so Emma signed on right away.
Though derby and drinking keep Emma pretty busy, she still finds time to raise pit-bulls, ride motorcycles, beat up thugs on the street, jack cars for the occasional reminiscent joyride and make hip hop records. Lots and lots of hip hop records.
