Critical Moment is a newsprint magazine working to provide a forum for education, debate, and dialogue around the political issues affecting communities in the Southeast Michigan area. Critical Moment aims to support movements for social justice by giving voice to those excluded and misrepresented by the dominant media. Offering critical perspectives on contemporary social justice issues, Critical Moment aims to develop connections between local organizations and activists and to promote communication and coordination between local, national, and global social justice movements. Critical Moment has no permanent staff of writers. This newspaper is entirely dependent on article submissions from individuals such as you.We focus on local politics, culture, and history. We believe that independent media is an important tool that can amplify voices that are underrepresented in the mainstream. We publish articles that challenge existing oppressive power structures and that offer not only critique, but ideas of creativity, resistance, and transformation.Critical Moment features the work of experienced writers and novices alike.
