About Me

The GMI award winner made his entrance into the realm of MC in 1998. Starting as a Garage MC, making his name and reputation for quick flows with conscious lyrics, in clubs in and around London. This in turn soon lead to the world of pirate radio.
Having appeared on some of London's most prestigious Garage radio stations, he drew the attention of a South London record label and soon had a white label release.
In 2000 he met and began working with two Drum & Bass DJ / Producers who signed him to their label (Tei-on).
Beginning to carve a space for him-self in the his new field and securing yet another radio show he and his DJ's were invited to appear on the multi-award winning Breaks fm.
With the beginning of 2002 he transcended once again, this time into his first real musical passion of Hip Hop and began working with another MC and two DJ's. From this he set up his UK Hip Hop label and with label partner Trickady released their debut E.P, 'The Life'.
In early 2004 Profit returned to his dance music background by becoming involved in the Nu-School Breaks scene. His first appearance Bad Planet, a track produced Dirty South propelled him into the Breaks scene. Since then he has played regularly for some of Breaks' biggest names such as Sonz of Mecha, Dirty South and ED 209. As well as supporting these DJs at some of dance music most prestigious nights such as Raindance and Hysteria.
At the beginning of 2005 Profit formed his new production company Voice Activated, a company responsible for such tracks as 'Hallowed Rascal', 'Revamped Tramp' and 'I had'. Around the same time Breaks fm offered Profit his own Hip Hop show, that he runs with the aid of his Hip Hop DJ, DJ Q, run.
From the combination of his musical experiences so far, Profit seems to capture and infuse them all into what ever style of music he is doing.

Track Reviews
DIRTY SOUTH feat PROFIT REMIX OF KILLIAN'S "TONIGHT" - LAST MEAL RECORDS

"Piledriving beats, distant hardcore fillips and a female vocal contribute to a track that falls somewhere between 2002 Plumps and 2004 Meat Katie. Dirty South use more synchopated beats and bring in MC Profit to add a grimier feel." - 3.5/5 (DJ MAG)

"DIRTY SOUTH BRING ON THE REMIX, ITS DARK, ITS TEAROUT, ITS NO HOLES BARRED PURE SWEAT DRIPPIN FROM THE CEILING TUNEAGE!! TWISTED VOCALS TAKE THIS TRACK TO WHOLE NEW DIMENSION, MC GIVIN IT WHAT FOR! ITS RAVE BUT NOT AS WE KNOW IT CAPTAIN! YES YES YES HANDS IN THE AIR, MOVE YA FEET QUICK AS YA CAN, GET IN!!!" (Breakbeat online.com)

TRICKADY & PROFIT - THE LIFE EP - EQ RECORDINGS / VOICE ACTIVATED PRODUCTIONS

"...featuring verbals from NE1 & Carmody, production and cuts from JC, Vigilante DJ's Q and Veri-8. Highlight 'Black'...Feel it." - 3/5 (DJ MAG)

REKTCHORDS feat PROFIT - THE REALNESS (INCLUDES SPECIMEN A REMIX) - BOMBTRAXX RECORDS

"The sixth escape of the American Bombtraxx Records sees the return of the producer nu skool British Jay Smithson, aka Rektchordz, still fresh of the good test offered with "Street Slut", now supported from mc Profit in fluctuating frastagliati and opportunely bassosi influences jamaican style, scanditi in the full rhymes and of digital effects them. Deep sequences and tagliatissime in evidence are in the original version that in remix of the siblings the Jones and dj Smart, that is the Specimen To, at last much effective in evolvere the trace in powerful way still more direct and. Both valid two productions, to confirmation of the always punctual choices operated from this young label." (Aurelio Cianciotta for Wickedstyle)
