Breaks fm was set up in the late 90's as a pirate radio station broadcasting on the fm dial in & around london. it was one of the original stations to first pioneer the breakbeat sound & to this day it has not forgotten its roots always pushing the most underground & cutting edge dance music.in around 2001 the switch was made to the internet , this was a bold move from the management that has gained the station & its dj's world wide aclaim whilst not comprimising in any way shape or form. many top dj's have played live on breaks fm & many dj's first cut their teeth on our air ways. its always an exciting place to be as time & again new talent & old collide to push things forward.since the annual breakspoll awards were started breaks fm has walked away with the award for best radio station every year which is a total of 5 consecutive times.
