NEECH HAS A NEW PROJECT!!!
Having spent much of 2007 concentrating on finishing and releasing her first full studio album, "Thinkin' Bout You" (available here by clicking on the photo on the left), and performing guest vocals for other artists, Neech is now working on an acoustic album.
Growing up with the sounds of reggae, hi-life and soul divas at home and heavily influenced by the indie scene of her peers and a personal love for hip hop, Neech combines this with an abstract blend of old-school soul and blues to create her own style. The ensuing sound invites you into darker territories and tells of intimate secrets with a warmth and originality that's impossible to ignore.
Past performances with a 6 piece band including live drums, guitar, bass, electronics and string section saw Neech supporting rock and funk bands, as well as headlining predominantly guitar based nights and giving the crowd a soulful twist.
In 2007 Neech scaled the band down to a 4 piece of vocal, guitar, bass and drums, and then further to concentrate on simple sets with just the voice and guitar.
Neech is currently performing a series of acoustic gigs with her guitarist, Oli, which fully expose her songwriting talent and vocal diversity, set against his delectable guitar playing. This has taken in venues around London such as 93 Feet East, The Cobden Club and The Salmon & Compass and Birmingham's Sunflower Lounge, among others...
Work on the acoustic album is also under way. This includes acoustic versions of some of the originally studio produced tracks, including "4am" and "Train Girl", breathing new life and perspectives into them, as well as brand new tracks such as "Learning" and "Dirty". Vocal and guitar parts have been recorded and are available for musicians and producers who feel they can add to these and help develop the sound. Its a very open minded project so feel free to get in touch via myspace if you would like to get involved.
