About Me

What up?!! Glad to be in this incredible city, and always interested in meeting new people. Great love for culture, musical fusion and expression, and travel. On the professional side, I work for EMI, a major Record Label, coordinating digital distribution for our Latin labels and Latin music stores. Work is stressful at times, but I manage to balance things out w/ social and musicial pursuits: Outside of work, I perform with a Brazilian drum group, which is focused on the Maracatu drum style based out of Recife Brazil. Also, my friends and I have created a Brazilian/hip-hop fusion group, called "Turnstylz", http://www.myspace.com/turnstylzz, which combines Brazilian percussive instrumentation, stand-up bass, drum kit, keys, etc w/ turntables. We've recently started working with the rapper Styles P of the LOX (D-Block!)(Album dropped on 12/4), so looking forward to great things in 2008. My Interests

Numerous interests can get overwhelming at times...but it's great to be in New York, where I have the opportunity to move forward on all of them: I play upright bass and cello, Brazilian percussive instruments (alfaia), and turntables. I have a great interest in Latin culture and lived in Mexico for 3 years, so international travel is a huge interest of mine. Favorite places to visit, so far, are Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Peru and Prague. Great interest in exploring new cultures, events, musical styles, and meeting new people.

I'd like to meet:

Work is going great, have great friends, and social life, but I would love to explore the city a bit more with like-minded people. Ideally, people that are open to new things, not afraid of diversity, overcoming difficult situations, and have an optimistic attitude.

Music:
